Do i need to book?
Being a small and busy restaurant, we often get fully booked. Although we can usually accommodate walk-ins, we always advise people to book, (especially for Fridays and Saturdays), to avoid disappointment.
Do you charge for service?
We do not add a service charge (except on parties of 6 or more where we add a discretionary 10% service charge). Any tip you wish to leave goes entirely to the staff.
are children welcome?
We welcome well behaved children of 7 years old and over. We do not have a children's menu.
Can you accommodate larger parties or private dining?
Our downstairs area can hold up to 28 people and is often used for private parties on Mondays-Thursdays.
Are dogs allowed in the restaurant?
No, however they are more than welcome to join you if you are eating on one of our outside tables. Our serving staff can give them a doggy bowl as well.
do you serve breakfast/afternoon snacks?
We no longer do breakfast/afternoon snacks in order to focus on our lunch and dinner service. People are welcome to come in for a coffee/tea/drink in the mornings and afternoon and we still serve cake.
Why do you need a deposit on some of your bookings?
Being a small restaurant, we really suffer financially when parties don't turn up for their bookings as it means the table is left empty.
It is also unfair on all the other customers who we have had to turn away during the week, who would have liked to dine on that table at that time.

is there disabled access?
Our restaurant is over two floors. We have both a ground floor and a downstairs dining area. There is, therefore, disabled access to our ground floor area. The loos, however, are downstairs.
Are you walking distance from the town CENTRe?
Yes. We are approximately 10 minutes walk from The Abbey, 5 minutes from Milsom Street and 3 minutes from Queens Square.
Is parking easy near the circus?
Parking is notoriously difficult in Bath. The Circus is surrounded by a mix of permit holder only and pay and display areas. Charlotte Street car park is the closest all-day car park and usually has spaces. If you are joining us for dinner, remember you are able to park on single yellows outside of peak hours, (after 6pm), unless otherwise stated.
Do you cater to people with special diets?
We want people on specific diets to feel included and welcome which is why we have a 'special diets menu' which lists how we can alter dishes to make them gluten/dairy free and vegetarian or vegan. If there is a certain ingredient in one of our dishes that you can't eat, you are more than welcome to ask for it to come without. The serving staff also have access to the ingredients and recipe of every dish on our menu, (every month), and you are more than welcome to ask to have a look at this.
will i get thrown out for asking for ketchup?
No. We're not that precious! We keep ketchup, mayo and mustard.
Do you take amex?
Yes. We accept all major credit cards.
HOW LONG DO I HAVE MY TABLE FOR?
Dinner tables of 1-2 people have use of the table for 2 hours and 15 minutes, 2 hours and 45 minutes for tables of 3-6, 3 hours and 15 minutes for tables of 7-12 and 3 hours and 45 minutes for tables of over 12 people, (unless otherwise stated at the time of booking). Lunch tables are the same but minus 30 minutes respectively.
CAN I BRING MY OWN CAKE?
We would prefer people not to eat their own food in our restaurant, however, if you are desperate to bring your own celebratory cake as a dessert, please let us know in advance. We will add a small 'cakeage' charge for each person on the table who has the cake rather than a restaurant pudding.
